It has been over a week now of senseless war in the Ukraine. Overwhelming feelings of sadness from so much destruction and suffering. Really hoping that this can all end soon. There have been some rapidly changing world developments and some wonderfully inspiring heroism, too. Just learning more about this on the internet now and came across the scholar and historian Yuval Noah Harari. He suggests, among other things, that this has the potential to significantly change the world, bringing about a new era where the collective power of the people of Western liberal countries can help to end this, and correspondingly energize us to move past our own cynicism and internal, divisive culture wars. Interesting and optimistic idea. Well, time will tell.
